Description
Without a doubt, observing cetaceans in their natural environment is an unforgettable experience. This can be topped here in Marsa Alam, namely by swimming with wild dolphins. For dolphin lovers who want to get to know these amazing species better, we have put together a discovery tour for two days, with which you, in the company of our expert local guides, have the opportunity to learn more about dolphins, to observe them up close and at the same time in their natural environment To experience the environment. While bottlenose dolphins can be found all year round along the entire coast, there is one main destination where the chance of a dolphin encounter is even higher: the Sataya Dolphin Reef Conservation Reserve.
With many resident species roaming around Sataya Reef, you get the chance to get up close and personal with these species almost every day. If you love these animals this 2-day tour is for you! Swimming with wild dolphins offers the participants the rare opportunity to observe the behavior of the marine mammals in their natural environment: how they eat, mate, jump, communicate with each other, or slide along in the bow waves of the boat at lightning speed. On this boat tour, you will get an insight into how dolphins protect their babies and how they act as social beings. Over the past ten years, our crew has gained a lot of experience with this program.
After a hearty breakfast, a guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the pier. In about half an hour you can take our large boat out to the Red Sea in a small group. Have your camera ready if you are lucky enough to see the dolphins swim by the boat.
Modern Zodiacs are available for the 2-day tour. Our guides know the waters of the Red Sea well and look for suitable schools of dolphins on the excursions, whose behavior allows an encounter underwater. This is always done with respect for the dignity of these marine mammals. Professional guides will help you prepare for contact with the animals. This includes, for example, what behavior is necessary for the water so that on the one hand the animals are not disturbed and on the other hand your encounters remain unforgettable. The Red Sea is different every day and quite different situations will arise.
The specially built boat ensures maximum passenger comfort and spectacular views. During the tour, our friendly crew will be at your side and ensure that every guest has a wonderful experience and can take the perfect photo. Whales and sea turtles or sunfish are also often spotted on excursions. Since 2008, dolphins have been seen on 95 percent of our boat trips.
Sataya Dolphin Reef is a nature reserve. Here you will learn about a rich variety of native fish species that have been preserved through this protection (snorkel gear available).
On the first day, the boat tour starts at around 8 a.m. from Hamata, Marsa Alam. On the way, we prepare the snorkeling equipment in a relaxed manner and hold a detailed snorkeling location briefing. When we arrive at Sataya Dolphin Reef, we select the best snorkeling spots for the first day. The choice of dive sites depends on the weather, currents, and diving experience.
The evening is free so that everyone can explore the fascinating seascape according to their taste. This 2-day wild dolphin cruise is also perfect for a group of friends and family, as both children and adults will enjoy the thrill of seeing dolphins in their natural environment.
Food, drinking water, and hot drinks are available all day long.
On the second day, we start at around 7:00 a.m. so that we can still find the snorkeling spots deserted. Our ship goes to two more exciting snorkeling spots around Sataya Dolphin Reef.
After two adventurous snorkeling trips, we make the comfortable return trip to Hamata where we will arrive between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The starting point for our boat trips for swimming with dolphins will be the friendly place Hamata.
