Description

We offer you an exciting tour of the capital of the pharaohs. Luxor has several sights, monuments, and attractions. Let yourself be captivated by the unbelievable relics of the pharaohs in Thebes West and East. Cross the Nile upstream in the footsteps of mighty rulers and great builders, whose works still amaze today. Accompanied by your personal guide, visit the following highlights on your tour:

● The valley of the kings
The pharaohs of the New Kingdom (1540-1070 BC) heaped treasures in their graves in two ways: in the form of precious gifts, as we know them from Tutankhamun's grave treasures, and in the form of murals that provide a deep insight into giving the ancient Egyptian vision of the afterlife to which the dead belong. The wealth of details that is presented here has never been reached again and makes the Valley of the Kings an inexhaustible source for the Egyptian belief in life after death and one of the most important cultural and intellectual sites. The temple complex also shows an overall picture of the fascinating history of ancient Egypt.

● Hatshepsut temple
Deir el-Bahari ancient necropolis in Egypt, which is located north of Thebes on the west side of the Nile. Erected in the middle of the parched desert, the Hatshepsut Temple is one of the most magnificent structures in the ancient world. The mortuary temple of Hatshepsut is a so-called million-year house. The temple structure contains three huge terraces that are connected to one another by stairs and ramps. The temple is built like a terrace and extends over three levels. Each level has its own function, with the last one being the "Holy of Holies". It is also worth mentioning that the drawings chiseled on the walls - illustrations of ancient myths and legends. For sure you will be awestruck when you look at the Temple of Hatshepsut, built with a belief in immortality.

● Karnak temple
The holy place of the pharaohs, dream destination of romantic tourists: A 3300-year-old temple is a magical place with traces of time. The Karnak temples, along with the Giza pyramids, are the highlight of every journey to Egypt and the destination of millions of visitors every year. The ruins of Karnak, two kilometers north of Luxor, are much more than just the remains of a temple. The only upright obelisk in Karnak with its mysterious hieroglyphs is a great example of the best of art and architecture of that time. Particularly impressive is the great pillared hall (hypostyle) of Karnak. Between the second pylon from the reign of King Haremhab and the third pylon of Amenhotep III. (both 18th dynasty) had the pharaohs Seti I and his son Ramses II (both 19th dynasty) build the world's largest hall of columns in ancient times. The Egyptian rulers built the temple complex of Karnak for several centuries. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

● The Colossi of Memnon
Then visit the Colossi of Memnon of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, which in the past stood in front of the pylons of the entrance to the Temple of Amenhotep III. They represent King Amenhotep III. sitting on a throne with his hands on his knees. He looks towards the Nile. The pharaoh's facial features are no longer recognizable. The around 1370 BC Seated figures represent the king and once guarded his mortuary temple, of which there are hardly any remains.
